Let the Greater Hamilton region know that you’re open for business and taking precautionary measures to ensure your customers and staff are COVID safe, by displaying a free ‘Open for Business as Unusual’ decal and poster on your shopfront.

Developed earlier this year as the COVID restrictions first began to impact local businesses, the initiative has worked to engage the community and continues to inspire all to support our Greater Hamilton businesses as they navigate the changing environment.

Many local businesses have adapted to the changed conditions through offering innovative solutions to purchasing and delivering goods, offering contact-less services and other changes to help meet the needs of customers.

If you’d like to pick up your free ‘Open for Business as Unusual’ decal and  accompanying posters that allows the flexibility to adapt to the restrictions, just head to our participating distribution centres:

We’re also capturing the latest updates from our businesses in the  Greater Hamilton Regional Business & Community Directory, part of the online activities for the “Business as Unusual” campaign.

Hamilton Regional Business Association President, Darcy Walker, says that this initiative is key for both the business and the consumer.

“Community members have a desire to shop local and support the Greater Hamilton region’s economy– having vibrant signage is one way that business changes can be communicated, alongside the online campaign centred around Council’s Business & Community Directory.”

Darcy Walker, HRBA President

The online directory contains listings of businesses, service providers, online events and other activities to stay healthy during COVID-19.

If you would like to put your business on our directory or change your service details, please use our online form and we will update the directory accordingly. We do our best to keep this updated, to help drive customers to your business or understand how your operating hours have changed.

Bookmark the Directory to stay in touch with what’s open at the moment, which online events are taking place, and how our local businesses have adapted, from offering home-delivered meals to no-contact services.
