Updated 11/5/20.

If you are a small business or not-for-profit impacted by COVID-19 you may be eligible for a $10,000 grant, but hurry- applications close June 1!

The $500 million Business Support Fund from the Victorian Government is designed to help small businesses survive and keep people in work, and has recently been expanded.

It was originally for sectors such as retail, tourism, hospitality, accommodation and the arts, but now includes businesses eligible for the JobKeeper Payment (excluding sole traders).

Businesses that have already applied will be contacted, but new applications close on 1st June, and $150 million has already been paid out of this fund (as of 8/5/20). If you think you may be eligible we encourage businesses to apply ASAP!

Your business is eligible if you:

  • Employ staff
  • Have been subject to closure or is highly impacted by shutdown restrictions announced by the Victorian Government to-date.
  • Have a turnover of more than $75,000
  • Have payroll of less than $650,000.
  • Held an ABN and were engaged in business on 16 March 2020 (date of the State of Emergency declaration).

We were also pleased to see the Victorian Government’s announcement that $40 million from this fund will be used to establish the Night-time Economy Business Support Initiative – created to assist licenced venues with an individual annual turnover of up to $50 million, but who are not covered by the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme, for rent relief.
