Council is supporting businesses in the Greater Hamilton Region through an eye-catching new campaign promoting how local businesses have adapted to the challenges of COVID-19.

Shopfronts will be activated with engaging ‘we are open’ decal stickers accompanied by posters for businesses to display their latest trading details. Don’t they look fabulous?

Many local businesses have adapted to the changed conditions through offering innovative solutions to purchasing and delivering goods, offering contact-less services and other changes to help meet the needs of customers.

Businesses can collect their decals and posters from the Hamilton Spectator, Regent Florist, and Daktari Sport. Other distribution outlets include Post Offices in Balmoral, Coleraine, Dunkeld and Penshurst.

We’re also capturing the latest updates in our Greater Hamilton Regional Business & Community Directory, part of the online activities for the “Business as Unusual” campaign.

This is another great example of local collaboration; driven by Council with support from the Hamilton Regional Business Association (HRBA) and the Hamilton Spectator. HRBA President, Darcy Walker, says that this initiative is key for both the business and the consumer.

“Community members have a desire to shop local and support the Greater Hamilton region’s economy– having vibrant signage is one way that business changes can be communicated, alongside the online campaign centred around Council’s Business & Community Directory.” – Darcy

The online directory contains listings of businesses, service providers, online events and other activities to stay healthy during COVID-19. Community members submit their business changes and other innovations via this nifty online form and our team do our best to keep the Directory updated so customers can find out what’s on offer locally.
